Welcome to the 45th issue of Lit*er*al*ly, Ororo, a weekly blog by me, Ororo Munroe, speaking my truth inspired by the 3000 Questions About Me journal. I mean, it’s a personal blog. And since I’ll be sharing all my personal bits, why not do so in the not-so-typical form of questions? Thanks for reading. Participation is encouraged.
541. How do you make the most of a bad situation?
I think it would depend on what the bad situation is. Are we talking home? Work? Because even then, it could branch off into what about the situation makes it bad. Since this question wasn’t specific, I’m not going to be specific, either. LOL
542. What do you call your evening meal - dinner or supper?
I call it dinner. Supper sounds very Southern to me and where I’ve lived, I’ve never heard it referred to as supper.
543. Is there such a thing as a bad challenge, in your opinion?
I don’t think so. At least, I’ve never seen one. They help you get outside your comfort zone, to be sure. But just make sure it doesn’t bankrupt you or you injure yourself. No challenge is worth that.
544. What are the biggest drawbacks of your current job?
1) It’s not what I want to be doing. I hate talking on the phones. It’s draining. I’d rather be doing shit behind the scenes.
2) No option to work from home. I get so much done without all the distractions of an office environment when I work from home. It’s hard to do that in an open floorplan office.
3) When I started there, the culture was all about the relationship with the customer. Now, it’s become a very snake oil salesman-every-man-out-for-himself-it’s-all-about-the-Benjamins type of culture.
545. What is the quickest way to your heart?
Being a book reader. I love the quiet moments that reading a book entail, and I would’ve lurved to have ended up with someone who was a book reader (not magazines, not newspapers, not comic books) like me.
546. Name someone you’d like to trade places with for a day.
Any solopreneur living overseas. I want to know what that life is like.
547. How open-minded are you?
Open-minded about what? That is the question. It seems these types of questions are so vague and there could be so many answers because it depends on what I’m supposed to be open-minded about.
548. Are you any good at burlap sack races?
Uh, no. I don’t think I would be. We would’ve had pillowcases, not burlap sacks, but I don’t remember having those types of races. I think we had one-legged races? Possibly. I think my sister and I would’ve been good at that.
549. Have you ever been to an art gallery?
I have. I love art, so going to galleries and museums is very fun for me.
550. Which would be impossible for you to give up on permanently: soda or coffee?
Coffee. Most definitely. I don’t drink a lot of soda these days anyway, so that would be easy for me to give up. But coffee? Yeah, I need that before I get asked the hard questions that require me to think.
551. How ambitious are you?
I don’t think I’m ambitious at all. When it comes to the Corp Hell Job, I’m not about trying to move up into management. That’s not in my personality. I’m an Introverted Empath, so the less I have to deal with people, the better. When it comes to my own side business, I thought I would be more ambitious because it was a way for me to leave the Corp Hell Job. And I kept thinking, “Well, you must not want it bad enough because you aren’t doing much to market it.” Which is why I closed it to focus on writing.
552. Do you think opposites attract?
I do. I think the thing that makes you opposites can be a balancing effect in the relationship.
553. What’s the best thing about your life?
Right now, having my own place. And getting back into writing, nerve-wracking as it is.
554. What color looks best on you?
I’ve been told that purple or maroon looks good on me.
555. Have you ever walked out on dinner with someone?
I have not, but I’ve wanted to. Dating is so hard, and when there’s nothing to talk about, dinner can be awkward.
It’s your turn. This inquiring mind wants to know your answers to these burning questions.
Lit*er*al*ly Ororo is free today. But if you do enjoy reading my words and want to support me for shits and giggles, you can tell me that my writing is fucking awesomesauce by upgrading to a paid subscription.
Whoever wrote these questions was getting tired around 548.
Ever been to an art gallery? Really? Are you good at burlap sack races? Haha. They were getting downright punchy with that one.
I have to say I think #548 may be my favorite question so far..."Are you any good at burlap sack races?" So random yet so funny 😂
