When you lit*er*al*ly need to take a moment (or 3)
Truth Serum Tell #19... it be like that sometimes
In June, I took a month off posting here so I could focus on finding/preparing to move into my new place. I was around, reading and commenting on your posts, but for the most part, I was out of pocket. However, when I came back, I didn’t take into account the life/life balance. And by that, I mean the amount of energy it takes changing locations on a weekly basis, all while unpacking and slowly making my place into a real home.
Before I knew it, I had 300 emails in my inbox that never seemed to go down. You may have noticed me responding to posts you’d written 3 months ago? Yep. That was me, trying to play catch-up. And I’m not the type of person to read the most recent email. Oh no, I start from the oldest date.
So, I’m borrowing a page from
over at Disability and Determination and taking a moment to catch up reading on the ‘stacks I’ve subscribed to.Welcome to Lit*er*al*ly, Ororo, a weekly blog by me, Ororo Munroe. You are reading Truth Serum Tells, posts about deeper life shit. No needles or toxic, mind-bending drugs were used to write these posts. Thanks for reading.
I know what you’re thinking:
Who takes a break from writing to catch up on reading?
Bitches who love to read, bitch! That’s who! Don’t be hatin’. I’d like to think I’ll be done in a couple weeks’ time, but I’m putting a twist on this because…
1) That life/life balance thing I mentioned earlier. When it’s my Caregiver Week, I don’t bring my laptop. I don’t got time for that. I can read on my mini-iPad, but it’s not like I can click-clack away on that thing. So, most of the time, I read/respond at work during my lunch and in between tasks and calls (Shhh! Don’t tell my boss). When I get back home, it takes me a couple of days to decompress and all I wanna do is read my Fuck Me books.
2) I currently still have over 300 emails in my inbox, with the oldest one dated the first week of August. Ya’ll write a shit ton! And if you’re posting every day, I’m totally screwed.
3) I made a commitment to follow my ikigai this year, which means I’m going to start publishing my first serial romance on Nov 1st (thank you,
for designing the cover and banner). You read it here first, even before my author subscribers. I know what you’re thinking:Who starts publishing stories towards the end of the year? Bitches with 11 free subscribers expecting to read short and steamy romance, bitch! That’s who! Don’t be hatin’. Needless to say, the pressure is on to get my shit together and unleash my words to the world. I’m nervous as fuck and Imposter Bitch (who strangely resembles Kim Kardashian) is trying to hair toss her way in with her Botox lips and ass implants, but I’m doing my best Knives Out impression over here.
With that being said, dear readers, Lit*er*al*ly, Ororo is going on hiatus for the rest of the year starting in October.
Literally.
If you recently subscribed or followed, heytherehey/sorry/see you next year? I may not be around for the next few months, but there’s plenty to read around here.
I’m going to catch up on your lovely words.
And I’m going to make up some of my own.
See you in 2025.
I write short and steamy interracial romance novellas under the name Evolet Yvaine. If you like stories that will make your panties wet, I invite you to become a member of the Wet Panty Society and join me on my writing journey. It comes with perks! (in addition to other… perky things)
Happy hiatus and come back soon / when ready 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
Congrats on this decision. You got this! Looking forward to the results. ❤️🥰
