There's nothing worse than the feeling of being ripped off. I've had that happen over and over, including a co-worker who totally stole one of my blog posts (way back in the day, clearly) during her one-woman show, and looked me right in the eyes as she spoke my words to me. WTF?! That's some nerve. I get the reaction. I've had it more than once. And now I'm seeing stuff I've written privately that's out there publicly by other people and I fret that I'll look like the rip-off artist. Mortifying. But we all tap the same vein. Imagine my shock when I realized I had written The Big Chill after seeing The Big Chill, 'cept my peeps were in their 20s and still in college. The prequel! Mortified. You start to realize how the human experience is shockingly similar. Still...that silly twit ripped off a draft. LOL. That's enjoyable. xo
