Welcome to Lit*er*al*ly, Ororo.

I’m Ororo Munroe.

My love of words began at an early age.

My Mom used to read to my older sister and I, so that was a great start.

But when you’re young with a lisp and a stutter? You tend to keep your mouth shut because kids are the worst.

And when you’re a drop of chocolate in a sea of milk, those little fuckers can be evil incarnate.

Books became my addiction (to this very day, honestly). The librarians at the public library became my besties.

Then diaries. The lock and key version.

Then journals.

Then blogs.

Speech therapy took the lisp away. As well as the stutter. For the most part. Self-consciousness remains as certain words continue to fight their way out of my mouth.

The written word will always be my preferred mode of communication.

So, what’s in a name?

According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, one of the definitions of “literally” is:

“Used to emphasize the truth and accuracy of a statement or description.”

So, that’s what I aim to do with this blog.

To write my truth.

“Literally” is also a nod to my love language.

It’s words, in case you weren’t paying attention.

Words are my love language.

Words are my therapy.

So, I’m checking in stretching out on the couch.

Pseudonymously (is that a word? If not, I’m inventing it right now).

As a Gemini, I am of two sides. I’m not a twin (although Older Sis and I are two years and two days apart), but I feel that I wholly embody this zodiac sign.

As the Quiet Twin, I let a lisp and a stutter define my life. Keeping quiet out of preference when I was young turned me into an adult who has never truly expressed my thoughts; always sparing other people’s feelings while shoving down my own.

The Blunt Twin has zero fucks to give.

Guess which one is going to be running this blog? Fun times, to be sure.

I know what you’re thinking…

uh huh

Vain much?

Lemme ‘splain.

There’s this little book…

I was at Target getting female things and ended up stopping in the school supply aisle to see if I could find a composition book. Instead, I found this book:

“This 3000 Questions About Me Activity Journal - Piccadilly is a perfect gifting option to your near and dear ones and a great way to get to know someone. This activity journal features fun questions like "do you prefer long or short hair?" and "would you say you're easy to get along?" etc. Featuring a fun artwork on the cover, this journal could be a great understanding tool to get to know someone and a fun addition to your journal collection.” Amazon product description on their website

For the most part, that’s a horrific product description and Thank Gawd it doesn’t say anything like that on the book itself. But when I flipped through the pages, I was intrigued.

I’ve always liked answering questionnaires and it reminded me of all the questions I’d (maybe) get asked if someone met me. And vice versa.

You will also get…

Truth Serum Tells. As in, I’m telling you stories about deeper life shit.

So, here you are.

Getting to know me.
